Account Manager, full-time

Your role

We are looking for an Account Manager on the Owners team to provide strategic advice, demonstrate value and develop solid partnerships with our owners.

  • Account Executives

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • First point of contact for the owner relationship (from handover by Business Development team) for your accounts – connecting, building and developing successful partnerships with owners and ensuring they receive an outstanding experience throughout their journey with us
  • Handling owner queries by phone and email
  • Monitoring and managing customer feedback, assessing risks and opportunities for improvement and development, and the quality of your accounts
  • Overall responsibility for the accuracy of all data collected and inputted across your owner accounts
  • Ensuring the value of owners is maximised through strategic advice as to how they can develop their business (including guest experience and new space development opportunities), how they can optimise prices and revenue, and ensuring they receive great value and support from Canopy & Stars
  • Working to meet owner commercial targets whilst ensuring retention rate is maintained
  • Keeping up to date with products, competitors and industry news
  • Reporting on performance of your owners to the Senior Account Manager
  • Input into the development and standardisation of processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Contributing to owner-specific strategies and projects to increase booking value and profitability
  • Responding to Marketing’s requests, providing info for campaigns/PR and contributing content for B2B marketing & owner newsletters
  • Proactively and constructively identifying areas for improvement and ensuring this is communicated to the Senior Account Manager
  • To manage, develop and motivate the Account Executives, to ensure they are supported and working to meet goals
  • Supporting the wider team where needed

Skills and experience


  • Experience working in a small business environment
  • Honed people skills - able to build effective working relationships with colleagues and our owners
  • Excellent communication skills – phone and written, which reflect Canopy & Stars culture and values
  • Negotiation and people management skills, intelligently attuned to the idiosyncrasies of owners
  • An eye for detail with excellent numeracy, verbal and written English
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office and Excel)
  • An organised multi-tasker who is able to prioritise workload, use initiative and spin lots of plates
  • Problem solver – ability and confidence to work through issues and provide solutions
  • Identifying opportunities, planning and executing campaigns and projects
  • Performance management - ability to find facts, analyse and use the figures to best help our owners and build on the relationships
  • Conflict resolution experience – knowledge of dealing with challenging situations and seeking resolution

Knowledge and qualifications


  • Clean driving licence
  • Experience in an account manager or relationship manager role
  • Experience line managing within a team


  • Travel brand (or niche brand) experience
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, or a CRM system
  • Languages, in particular French 

Salary and benefits

  • Salary of £25 - £27k depending on experience
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours/5 days per week
  • 25 days annual leave per year, plus bank holiday's
